Volvo was founded as a Swedish builder of commercial vehicles such as buses, trucks, and construction equipment in 192. Volvo established its automobile division started to produce passenger cars in 1999. The car division was then sold to Ford Motors for $6.45 billion. The trademark was shared by Ford and Volvo AB. Volvo was recently sold for $1.8 billion to its present owner which is the Chinese car maker "Geely Automobile".
